Picture

Yippee!  I finally learned how to use my scanner.  I'm so proud of myself.  I scanned one of Michael's senior pictures and a younger picture.  I can't believe my precious baby boy is almost grown and out of high school.  Next year  we'll have kids in college and one in elementary school.  Gotta love God's plans.

I800 Approval

Friday we received confirmation that our I800 Provisional Approval was received.  In simple terms this means that our daughter has permission to come to the U.S.  The paperwork went through with no complications or snags!!!   Now we wait for our TA (travel approval).  This is the hardest part, not knowing exactly when we go.   Still should be sometime in December.  Thanks be to God!!

Special Delivery

We have confirmation that the orphanage received our care package on October 8th.  The cake and fruit were delivered on Monday, October 10th.  It is official our precious little girl knows what we look like and that we are coming to bring her home to her forever family! You can't tell but we are "Over the Moon" with excitement.

Go Mustangs!!

Cypress Ranch Mustangs are now 5-1.  Hopefully we will make the play-offs.  Since this is our last year of band I'm really hoping that we get to play as many games as possible.  I know my "band mom" days are numbered.   That is unless Mia joins the band in a few years down the road.  I hope....I hope....

We have had the worst drought here in Texas.  We are literally praying for rain, so last nights game was an answered prayer.  We don't get nice, breezy cool football weather.  We get scorching hot, sticky humid weather.  The kids went crazy playing in the rain and had a blast.  Winning 37-23 was an added bonus!

Prayers for Mia

I am assuming that by now Li Qing has been told that she will be adopted and her American family is coming to get her.  I have no idea when or how they told her, or even what her reaction was.  I hope she is not too fearful.  She cannot possibly understand the magnitude of changes she is about to encounter.  If you could pray for God to touch her heart and start to prepare her for this transition we would greatly appreciate it.

It is customary for the adoptive parents to send a care package to their child at the orphanage.  Last week we ordered Li Qing a pretty pink cake, fruit basket and a disposable camera.  We are praying they will take some pictures of her for us.  It is not guaranteed that the orphanage will do this, however I have my fingers crossed.   We also emailed 6 pictures that they will put in a little book for her.  She will get to see her new family.  Yeah!!

I keep checking my email to see if they will send us a confirmation that the care package was received.  The lady said that it should be sometime around October 10th.

We thank you so much for your prayers!!

Home for the Weekend

Both of our girls were home from college for the weekend!  We had to squeeze in as much fun as possible.  We went shopping for the perfect pumpkins....

This Cinderella pumpkin was not it.  At $38.00 for a pumpkin it was a bit pricey, but it did make for a cute picture.  They had some precious goats too.  We didn't bring those home either.

Then we ate dinner at our favorite restaurant La Hacienda.  So Yummy!!

Went home and made chocolate covered strawberries, apple pie and french donuts.  It was definitely a calorie filled day.  Poor Michael was at a band competition and didn't get to participate in our family fun.  That is the trouble with schedules.  They never seem to quite all fit together.  Butch took the kids to the Texans vs. Steelers football game on Sunday.  We are actually Steelers fans, but we were proud of the Texans.  This year they seem to be looking like real football team.  I don't have any pictures from the game.  Momma wasn't along with her camera.   I stayed home and watched in on t.v.

Well, that is a quick recap of our fun filled weekend.  Now I'm counting down the days until Thanksgiving break.
